MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Milwaukee County Zoo announced Thursday, November 6th the unexpected death of its newest female jaguar cub, Anahish.
Anahish was born August 14th, along with a male litter mate, Francisco. The cubs were born to 10-year-old mother, Stella, and 15-year-old father, Pat.
The death occurred Thursday morning when an interior animal shift door in the Big Cat building’s holding area was inadvertently left open, allowing a two-year-old young adult male jaguar, Zean, to enter the area, which housed the mother, Stella, and the cubs. Zean fatally injured the female cub.
Two zookeepers jumped into action immediately — and they were able to separate the jaguars using water hoses, but it was too late to save the cub.
Zoo officials report Stella is showing some agitation at this time. Stella and Francisco will remain off exhibit for an undetermined amount of time. The Zoo will conduct a full investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
“Oh the (zoo)keepers are just crushed — and so are we. They do good work back there and they are really concerned about all of the animal collection that they take care of,” Milwaukee County Zoo Director Chuck Wikenhauser said.
A complete necropsy will be performed at the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Preliminary results could be available within a few weeks.

Sumatran tiger trapped and killed in Kerinci
Tiger Monitoring Teams working in Sumatra, Indonesia, made a disturbing discovery during a routine patrol.

In a gruesome incident in August, a Sumatran tiger was trapped and killed in Sumatra’s Kerinci Seblat National Park.
As tigers slowly vanish from more areas across their range, Kerinci remains a stronghold for this Critically Endangered predator. In recent years, committed conservation work by Fauna & Flora International’s (FFI) Sumatran Tiger Conservation Programme has allowed tiger numbers in the park to increase.
We know this thanks to the work of the FFI/Panthera Tiger Monitoring Team. But in August this year the team made the grim discovery of tiger remains in a hunters’ camp situated deep within the park. The hunters fled as the team arrived at their camp, but left behind the skin and bones of a recently snared tiger.

Two Colorado big game hunting guides, Christopher Loncarich, 55, of Mack Colorado and his partner Nicolaus Rodgers of Shady Cove, Oregon, who were part of an outfitter’s group of Western-slope guides that led expensive mountain lion hunts around the Book Cliffs Mountains on the Utah border are charged with 17 counts of violating Federal wildlife crimes.
The two are accused of trapping mountain lions in Utah between 2007 and 2009, bringing them across the border into Colorado to be hunted by clients (many of whom were unlicensed “poachers”) paying between $3,500 and $7,500 each for the experience, and making sure the lions couldn’t escape beforehand by wounding them in the leg or keeping them in place with a leg-hold snare.This sort of thing makes me so angry. Not only is it seriously unethical and cruel but it gives all hunters a bad name.
A Vladivostok man faces up to seven years behind bars for allegedly having poached a critically endangered Amur leopard and attempted to sell its hide. After the 32-year-old hunter began scouting offers for the rare leopard’s pelt, local police were tipped off. Officers initially posed as potential buyers before detaining the suspect and launching a criminal investigation.
The hunter may be charged with the unlawful production and distribution of a particularly rare and valuable wild animal, a charge police claim they have ample proof to back up in court. The case materials have been dispatched to a local court for judicial review.

Kendall works closely with conservationists, and every animal she kills is one that is ill or has caused problems for others in their group.
She pays over $50,000 for each animal she kills, and every penny of that goes towards conservation efforts
She is HELPING TO CONSERVE THESE ANIMALS.
Also a lot of the animals in these pix are actually just sleeping because she shot them with an anesthetic so that conservationists can help the animals medically and put (humane) trackers on them to better understand where they go and assist in conservation.

Kendall Jones, before she got all of this media attention, used her personal facebook page to constantly post jokes berating vegetarians and vegans, and moreso, CONSERVATIONISTS.
Kendall Jones made a post on her facebook page praising herself for being ~~so selfless~~ by saying “I can’t wait to go visit an elementary school in Zimbabwe to hand out all these goodies to the unprivileged school kids!” As you can see in the image, this is what she decided to bring them. Big awesome person that she is.
Also, she claims that she’s contributing to “conservation”, that’s bullshit. Her conservation money goes to the government of Zimbabwe. President Mugabe, a man who rose to tyranny through imperialist british rule, is benefitting DIRECTLY from her “conservation efforts”, and the people she claims to help are dying as a result of her blood tourism.
